Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
One catch for 4 yards. That is the entire 2026 season so far, a lone grab in week 3 of 2026 and nothing at all in week 2 of 2026 or week 4 of 2026. The week he missed is week 1 of 2026, and his bye in week 5 of 2026 is already behind him, so with no injury designation since before week 1 of 2026, nothing is hiding behind the blank stat line. He is just not on the field.
The depth chart explains some of it. Kansas City lists him third behind Kenneth Walker III and Emmett Johnson, with EJ Smith fourth, and Andy Reid keeps calling the plays himself. That was also the shape of his rookie year, when he took a 17.2% snap share, ranked RB96 among 158 qualifying backs, and cleared 15 points in none of his 17 weeks. The one interesting bit of 2025 was his work near the goal line, a 21.5% red-zone touch share that ranked RB22. But the history on backs in that spot is ugly: that profile has cost players in his spot 2.9 points a game on average from one season to the next, net of two factors, and this season the touches have not come at all.
Our preseason number was 40 points off 13 expected games, a 3.1-point pace, and he is running closer to nothing than to that. The scoring-range role that made him interesting has cost backs in his spot 2.9 points a game on average, and that dock is already showing in a line with zero carries. With 5 players left in his tier before a 4.8-point drop and no ADP on record for him, there is no reason to keep the spot. Release him for a running back actually playing.
