Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Half a point a game through six weeks of 2026, on two targets the whole season. That is the case in full, and it does not need much argument. We put 49 points on him before the season, a 3.5-point pace over the 14 games we expected, and he has not come within shouting distance of it in any week, including three straight zeros in weeks 4 through 6 of 2026.
The role never existed to lose. He enters his second season as a 2025 second-rounder, but he is third among Seattle tight ends behind AJ Barner, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp already took 52% of the team's targets last year. His playing time in 2025 slid as the season went on, 44% of snaps over weeks 1 through 4 of 2025 and down to 31% over weeks 11 through 14 of 2025. Brian Fleury calling a new offense this year has not changed anything for him.
The knee is real. He played 13 of 17 in 2025, and from week 15 of 2025 on the report listed him Out with it. He has been questionable since before week 7 of 2026, so even the health angle offers nothing to wait on. His bye lands in week 11 of 2026. There is no version of this roster where a 23-year-old third tight end with one catch is worth holding over a streaming option or a flier with a path. Cut him and use the spot on a live option, and only reconsider if Barner misses time and Arroyo starts running routes with the ones.
