Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
A 3.6-point week 5 of 2026 is the only score he has all season. Weeks 1 through 4 of 2026 were all zeros, and the season totals read 2 catches, 16 yards on 8 targets, no touchdowns. That is not a slow start, that is a receiver with no role.
The depth chart told us this before a snap. He is listed fourth in ARI's receiver room, and the target competition is worse than his own listing: Trey McBride took 27% of the 2025 targets and Michael Wilson 20%, and both were well ahead of Brooks. His own 2025 share was 3.0%, WR179 among 239 qualifying receivers, on a 31.1% snap share. The crowd is what costs him here. Among receivers in his spot, points a game fell 0.9 on average from one season to the next, and with only 3.5 expected team wins the drop was 0.8. New play caller Nathaniel Hackett and new head coach Mike LaFleur have not changed any of it through five weeks.
Last year he played 5 games, averaged 1.6 points, and scored over the position's weekly median once. The one real positive is efficiency: yards per target climbed from 5.9 in 2024 to 8.5 in 2025, but 51 total yards is not a foundation to build on. We had him at 40 points for the season, most outcomes landing between 23 and 58, on 11 expected games at 3.6 a game. He has been worth none of it so far. He is on rosters because of hope, not numbers. Drop him and spend the spot on a receiver who is actually running routes that matter.
