Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Four of his five games this season have built upward, from 4.5 points in week 3 of 2026 to 11.9 in week 4 of 2026 and then 15.2 in week 5 of 2026. That is a receiver getting better as the games pile up, and he has played every one with no injury designation all season.
The problem is what sits under the trend. He is listed third among Houston receivers behind Nico Collins and Xavier Hutchinson, and the target room stays crowded: Collins and Dalton Schultz combined for 44% of Houston's 2025 targets. This season Noel has 6% of the team's red-zone carries and targets (2 of 36) and 11% of its air yards in his games. That is a role built on scraps. Receivers in his spot have historically shed 0.9 points a game from one season to the next, and last year he finished WR91 among 240 qualifying receivers at 4.0 points a game.
Our preseason number was 95 points, basically even with the pool of receivers drafted around his ADP of 166.7, and our board put him at overall rank 229, WR82. Five weeks in he is at 8.9 a game, ahead of our preseason pace of 6.8. That gap is real but small, and 17 targets over five weeks says the volume has not followed the scores. If he stacks another 12-point week before the bye in week 8 of 2026, hold him. If a third single-digit game shows up out of four in weeks 6 and 7 of 2026, he is droppable for a hot free agent.
