Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
He has been on IR since before week 3 of 2026 and sat out weeks 1 through 4 of 2026, and now the week 5 bye is behind him too. The board ranks him below every available receiver while he sits on that list, so he is not even a stash you can flex into a lineup. Our preseason number, set before any of this, was 1 point for the full season with most outcomes between -1 and 3, which works out to 1.0 points a game over the one game we expected him to play.
Even healthy this was never a live roster spot. He went undrafted out of the 2026 class, and at 23.5 years old on opening day he entered his first season with no draft capital behind him. The depth chart in KC runs Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton and Jalen Royals ahead of him at seventh, and the man setting the order is Andy Reid, back for 2026 and calling the plays himself. Rice and Kelce combined for 48% of the targets in 2025, so the scraps behind that pair were already spoken for.
The offense itself does not help his case either. KC played at 32.9 seconds a play last season and threw on 58% of situation-neutral plays, but that volume was feeding a team that finished with 6 wins, and none of it funneled toward the seventh receiver on the depth chart.
We would move him off the roster now and use the spot on a receiver who can actually take the field. The only thing that changes this is news of his activation, and even then the target competition in this offense leaves almost nothing to harvest.
