Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
The IR stint is the case. He has been on it since before week 3 of 2026, missed weeks 1 through 4 without a designation before that, and the bye in week 5 of 2026 is behind him. A player who never gets on the field cannot help a roster in week 6 of 2026, and this one was never going to help much anyway.
Even healthy, the path was thin. He is listed 8th among KC wideouts, behind Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Tyquan Thornton and Jalen Royals, in an offense where Rice and Kelce combined for 48% of the 2025 targets. He went undrafted in the 2025 class, is 24.7 on opening day and entering his second season, and spent his whole rookie year as a healthy 17th man, never missing a week to injury and never playing one. Our board puts him 473rd overall and WR190 at his position, and while he sits on IR the board ranks him below every available receiver, so he cannot even anchor the deep end of a roster. Our preseason number was 7.7 projected points for 2026, built on just 2 expected games, and he has already burned past the games we gave him without scoring a point.
There is no reason to hold a spot for him. If he gets released from IR at some point, he would still need to jump four named receivers just to see a target in Andy Reid's offense. Drop him and add a receiver who can actually play for you this season.
