Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
He has not played a down this season, and that is where the note starts and mostly ends. Weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 of 2026 came and went without him in the lineup, he landed on IR before week 3, and then the bye in week 5 of 2026 passed with the roster moving on without him. While he sits on that season-long list, our board ranks him below every tight end who can dress, so every week you keep him is a week a roster spot does nothing for you.
Even if he gets healthy, the road in front of him is about as blocked as it gets. He is a 24-year-old rookie who went undrafted out of the 2026 class, and the latest depth chart in KC has him listed fifth among the tight ends, behind Travis Kelce, Noah Gray and Jared Wiley. The target picture was already spoken for before he arrived: Rashee Rice took 29% of Kansas City's targets in 2025 and Kelce took 20% of all targets in that offense, 48% between the two of them. Reid still calls the plays himself, and he leans on players he has trusted for years.
We had him at 1 point for the full 2026 season before it started, TE128 on our board, with a middle range of -1 to 3 and a pace of 1.0 a game across the 1 game we expected him to play. Injuries are what drag the low tail down, and the IR stint already showed that risk was live. For a manager carrying him now, we would move him out and put the spot on a tight end who can take the field in week 6 of 2026.
