Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
The IR designation is the whole problem now. He plays nothing while he sits there, and our board ranks him below every available running back, so a roster spot spent on him is a spot wasted. Drop him and pick up a back who can actually help in week 6 of 2026.
The weeks before the injury did not build a case anyway. Five games, 4.5 points a game, no touchdowns, and zero of Cleveland's 28 red-zone carries and targets went his way in his games. It was the same story inside the ten, where he got none of the 12 carries and targets his team ran there in his games, ranking him 61st among the 65 running backs with 20 or more touches of their own. In 2025 he took 22.6% of his own touches in the red zone, but that profile has cost players in his spot 10.2 points a game on average the following season, net of 6 factors. Nothing in this year's usage suggests he dodged that fall.
He is third on the depth chart behind Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson, and Todd Monken's new staff has not found him a role. Even before the IR move, our preseason number of 44 points leaned on 9 expected games at 4.9 a game, and he was running under that pace. His one usable week was week 3 of 2026 with 9.1 points, and the other four never cleared 6. The 12 targets and 11 catches sound like something, but they turned into just 74 receiving yards and no scores. There is no reason to hold through the bye in week 11 of 2026 when he cannot even take the field. Move on.
