Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Two games have mattered here and one of them is why he is still on a roster anywhere. Week 2 of 2026 gave him 17.4 points, then weeks 1 and 3 gave him 0 and 1.9, and since before week 4 he has sat on IR, playing no games and ranking below every available tight end on the board. Weeks 4 and 5 of 2026 are gone to him. Until the Rams put him back on the 53, there is no decision to make.

The return itself is the hard part. He was listed third among LA tight ends behind Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee, and last season the usage matched that slot: 38.7% of snaps and a 5.3% target share, both middling among qualifying tight ends, with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams eating 55% of the targets between them. He was a second-round pick in 2025, he is 23.5, and Sean McVay still calls the plays, so the runway exists. But tight ends in his spot fell 0.7 points a game from one season to the next on average, and 4.7 a game in 2025 is a thin base to build on.
Our number was 79 for the season, 5.6 a game over the 14 games we counted on. He can still get there if the one big receiving day he already posted in 2026 turns into a habit across the weeks left on the schedule. Hold him in an IR slot and see how the snaps split when he is back. If he is still fourth in line, drop him for a tight end who plays.
