Our read
Written Sep 8, from his facts through last season
The headline is the two games. Our number has him at 3 season points with a realistic range of 0 to 7 once you account for injury, and even the top of that range means nothing in a 10.5-win Detroit offense with a crowded target room that costs him 0.9 points every time he plays.
The role is a body, not a weapon. In his one game last season he ran 12% of the snaps and caught what he could on an 8-yard average depth of target, with zero red-zone touches all year. His target share did jump from 0.7% in 2024 to 14.8% that week, but four total touches and 36 receiving yards is what that share bought him. He played week 13, scored 7.6, and that was both his best week and his only week. The other 16 were healthy weeks the coaches chose not to use him. That pattern repeats the story from 2024 and 2023: healthy, available, and unplayed.
The call is easy. There is no ADP on file because nobody has spent a pick on him, and that is correct. He is 30, entering year eight, undrafted out of the 2019 class, and John Morton's play calling kept him at WR183 among qualifying receivers last year. Even in a fast offense that throws on 55% of situation-neutral plays, the coaches played him once. If you need a receiver in the final rounds, take a rookie or a running back handcuff. Kennedy is a name, not a pick.
