Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Five weeks of 2026 have gone by and Benson has not played in any of them. He missed weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, every game the season has offered so far, and he has sat on IR since before week 3 of 2026, a list that keeps a player off the field until he comes off it. We said before the season he would give you about 2 games and 18 points all year, and the season has only added reasons to doubt even that.
The history is the worry. His 2025 ended after week 4 of 2025, with the weekly roster listing him as a reserve from week 5 of 2025 on and no body part ever named. That came after an ankle that cost him weeks 16 and 18 of 2024. So we have seen 16 games in two seasons, 4 of them last year. In those 4 he was actually good for the role, 8.8 points a game and above the position's weekly median every week, with the target share jumping from 1.6% in 2024 to 12.5%. The catching role was real. The body has not held up.
Even if he returns, the depth chart has slipped him to fifth among ARI backs, behind Jeremiyah Love, Tyler Allgeier, Bam Knight and James Conner. That is not a role that produces, and a new staff under Mike LaFleur owes him nothing. Our board has him RB93, below every available running back while the IR tag sits on him.
There is no return news to react to. If you have a deep roster and a dead spot, holding him costs you nothing, but if you need the seat, drop him for a player who can take a snap in week 6 of 2026.
