Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Six percent of the red-zone carries and targets in his games through five weeks of 2026, 3 of 48, and 4% of the carries and targets inside the ten, 1 of 28. That is the whole problem with Blake Corum right now. Last season he was sitting on 17.6% of his own touches in scoring range, and he finished RB40 off that work. Kyren Williams has kept the first spot on the depth chart, Sean McVay still calls the plays himself, and none of the inside-the-ten touches have come Corum's way.
The maddening part is that he is scoring on our preseason pace anyway. We gave him 104 points for the season off a 7.4 points-a-game pace, and he has run 7.7 a game through weeks 1 to 5 of 2026, with 16.2 in week 5 showing what a friendly script can do for him. But one touchdown in five weeks sits under a 29.5% touchdown-points share, and backs carrying that kind of scoring dependence have been docked 1.4 points a game the following season on average. Thin red-zone usage on top of that is exactly the situation that shaves a back's total.
The 2024 to 2025 jump, 2.2 points a game to 7.2, was real, and his yards per touch climbing from 4.1 to 5.1 backs the talent read. He cleared 15 points once in 17 weeks last season, though, so the big weeks come rarely. Drafters took him at pick 122.6 before the season, and our board has him RB42. Hold him as Williams insurance and start him only in a pinch, starting with your bye needs.
