Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
He has not taken a snap all season: weeks 1 through 5 of 2026 all went by with him on the inactive side, and he landed on IR before week 3 of 2026. That is the immediate fact, and it settles the lineup question for anyone holding him right now. While that designation stands, he plays no game and our board ranks him below every available tight end.
The preseason read was already grim before any of this. Our number gave him 3 points for the whole of 2026, built on just 3 expected games, the middle range ran from -1 to 6, and the median outcome sat at 2.7 points. Last season explains why: he played 3 of 17 games, scored 0.4 points a game, topped the position's weekly median zero times, and saw the field for 6.1% of snaps with a 0.3% target share. The 2025 depth chart put him behind Bowers, Mayer and Ian Thomas, and the new staff under Klint Kubiak has given him no reason to climb it.
One usable fact: he is 25 and in his second year, so a team desperate for tight end depth could still stash him. You are not that team if you need production now. He is on IR, unrosterable in any league that scores points, and the bye does not come until week 13 of 2026 anyway. Cut him and spend the slot on a tight end who can actually get on the field.
