Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
He has not played a down. Weeks 1 through 5 of 2026 all went by with Daniels inactive, and he carries an O designation going into week 6, so there is no sign of a return either. Any reason to roster him coming out of training camp is gone now, and the only case left for him is one that happens in weeks still to come.
The path was narrow to begin with. We had him 452nd overall and WR171 before the season, with a preseason projection of 19 points across 9 expected games, about 2.1 a game. That number assumed he would even see the field. He is listed seventh among Rams receivers, behind Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Jordan Whittington and Konata Mumpfield, and Nacua and Adams together took 55% of LA's targets in 2025. McVay calls the plays himself and this passing game funnels to two names. A sixth-round rookie with no spot in the top six was always going to need injuries ahead of him to matter.
The upside case, such as it is: the schedule softens nothing and hardens nothing for a player this far down, his bye is still ahead in week 11 of 2026, and 10 of LA's games come indoors. None of it moves a receiver who has not dressed once. If you are stashing a young Rams receiver in a deep league, Whittington and Mumpfield are both ahead of him on the depth chart and both closer to playing time. Drop him, or if you cannot cut a rookie this early in your format, accept that he is dead weight until something changes in the injury report or the depth chart. Right now neither gives any reason to wait.
