Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Guerendo is ruled Out on Sunday's report, so he gives you nothing Monday night against the Commanders in week 6 of 2026. He hasn't logged a game yet this year, sitting out weeks 1 through 5 while buried fourth among 49ers backs behind Christian McCaffrey and two others. In our rest-of-season order he shows 2.6 PPR points, RB136, so even when he returns there's little role to lean on. Find a fill-in for this week, and if your bench is crowded he's droppable.
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
The most telling fact in Guerendo's file is not the injuries or the depth chart, it is that of the 10 games he missed in 2025, all 10 were healthy weeks he simply did not play. Shanahan had a full backfield rotation and never called his number, and the rotation still starts with McCaffrey ahead of Kaelon Black and Jordan James this year, with Guerendo listed fourth.
The numbers back that up. He finished 2025 with 0 points in 7 games, 0.0% snaps, and never once beat the weekly median at the position. His per game fell from 6.01 in 2024 to 0, and his target share went to 0.0%, so even the pass-game sliver he had in his rookie year is gone. This season he has missed weeks 1 through 5 of 2026, and he carries an Out designation into week 6, so there is no recent tape to argue with either.
Our preseason number was 8 points for 2026, built on 12 expected games at 0.7 a game, and even that modest read is off track with half the games gone and no return date. The bye lands in week 8 of 2026, right after his likely return window, which stretches things out further. A roster spot spent on a fourth running back in a Shanahan rotation is a spot better used on someone who plays. Let him go and spend the space on a live weekly option.
