Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Kyle Allen has been healthy all season, which is exactly the problem. He did not play weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, and there is no injury designation since before week 1 of 2026. He sat because he is listed second among BUF quarterbacks behind Josh Allen, and no coaching change, not even a new head coach in Joe Brady and a new play caller in Pete Carmichael Jr., is going to take snaps away from the starter to feed this guy.
The recent record is brutal in its own quiet way. In 2025 he played twice and averaged -0.1 points a game, QB78 among 81 qualifying quarterbacks, with 0 touchdowns and 3 touches all season. In 2023 he played six of 17 games and was QB59 among 59, at -1.3 points across those six appearances. He has not cleared 15 points in any week we charted, and his 2025 best was -0.1 in week 10 of 2025. Last season he took 8.5% of the snaps, QB74 among 81 qualifying quarterbacks. Nothing in that says a stretch of spot starts would help you.
Our preseason number was 14 points for the season, at a pace of 3.5 a game over the 4 games we expected him to play, and he has banked none of it while the bye in week 7 of 2026 approaches. We had him QB70, overall rank 525, and our sources hold no ADP for him, which tells you how little fantasy attention he drew before the season. If he is still on your roster, drop him and use the spot on a quarterback with a path to actual snaps in week 6 of 2026. If someone else is carrying him, you do not need to be the one to find out why.
