Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Listed second among Pittsburgh quarterbacks behind Aaron Rodgers, with Drew Allar fourth, Rudolph is a depth chart piece, not a fantasy piece. He has taken two of the first five weeks of 2026 and produced 0.3 points in week 2 of 2026 and -0.2 in week 5 of 2026, so the offense has run without him and he has added nothing when it did not. Across both games he has come in at 0.1 points a game on 3 carries and 1 rushing yard, with no pass attempt, no target and no touchdown.
The shape of his last two seasons is the part that settles it. He went from 11.73 points a game in 2024 down to 3.0 in 2025, and his yards per touch fell from 4.2 to 0.9. His best week of 2025 was 8.98 points in week 11 of 2025, and he never once beat the position's weekly median in his five games that year. Even the year before, his 93.8 points over 8 games only made him QB36 among 69 qualifying quarterbacks. Our number had him at 24 points for 2026, 4.8 a game over the 5 games we expected, and he is running well under even that.
There is no injury question to lean on, he has carried no designation since before week 1 of 2026, which means the healthy weeks he sat were pure coaching decisions. He is 31 years old and in his ninth season, and a first appearance has come as late as week 15 of 2023 in his recent past. That is the worst kind of bench situation. He is not worth a roster spot in any league, and we would drop him for a quarterback with a real path to playing time.
