Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Zero targets in two games played, zero catches, 0.0 points a game, zero of anything, and he has already missed three of five weeks this season. Weeks 1, 2 and 4 of 2026 went by without him, and he carries an O designation going into week 6 of 2026. We expected 4 games from him before the season with injury risk baked in, and he is somehow behind even that pace while producing nothing in the games he does dress for. His bye in week 11 of 2026 is still to come, so there is not even a week off to hide him through.
The role is the story here. He is an undrafted rookie sitting third among New England tight ends, behind Hunter Henry and Eli Raridon, with Cameron Latu fourth and Julian Hill fifth behind him. The 2025 target picture in this offense gave Henry 18% and Stefon Diggs 21% on their own. Josh McDaniels kept the play-calling job from last season, so there is no new scheme opening a door for a rookie who went undrafted in reality. This is also not a fast offense waiting to expand: the Patriots ran 34.6 seconds a play and passed on 54% of situation-neutral plays in 2025.
Our preseason number was 5.0 points for all of 2026, and most outcomes land between 0 and 10. He is a depth-chart body on a 14-win team with no path to targets, and he turned 23 just before opening day. Hold nobody's roster spot for this. Release him now and find a tight end with a live role, because the only thing left to watch here is whether he even stays active.
