Our read

Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6

Minnesota is on bye in week 6 of 2026, so Wentz does not play this week and scores no points. The Vikings are back in week 7, at home against the Colts, and he carries QB42 in our rest-of-season order with 574 overall. He's also third on the depth chart behind Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy, having sat out weeks 3 through 5 after averaging 11.8 PPR points a game over his two appearances. Hold him on your roster if you have the room, and find a fill-in for the lineup this week.

Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season

Third on Minnesota's depth chart behind Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy, and he hasn't played since week 2 of 2026. He missed weeks 3, 4 and 5, and the bye in week 6 of 2026 is next, so we're going at least two more weeks without any answer on whether he sees the field again.

Preseason projection104projected PPR points

The two starts he did make were fine for what he is: 17.22 points in week 1 of 2026, then 6.32 in week 2, 276 pass yards and 3 touchdowns across both. That's about 11.8 points a game, right on the 10.4 pace we set for him before the season over the 10 games we expected. The problem is the games. Last season he played 5 of 17 weeks, ended on a reserve list from week 9 of 2025 on, and our preseason projection figured on only 10 games played in 2026. He's already three weeks into the missing column.

Our number had him at 104 points for the season, QB35 on our board, and there's a 36.6-point drop before the next player in his tier. That gap tells you what the bottom of this group looks like. If he's somehow still on your roster, we would hold him only through the bye and only if you have the space. The moment Minnesota names a starter ahead of him, drop him and fill the seat with someone who plays. There's no week on the schedule where we'd start him as things stand.
