Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
He has not played at all this season, and that is not a surprise so much as the plan arriving on schedule. We expected 4 games out of McKee for the whole of 2026, and through week 5 of 2026 he has sat behind Jalen Hurts for every one of them, with Andy Dalton ahead of him too. There is no injury designation anymore, so this is a depth-chart reality, not a health one. The snap will not come unless something goes wrong in Philadelphia.
What happens when he does play has not been good. Last season he averaged 3.4 points a game over 4 appearances, never once finishing above the position's weekly median, with a worst week of -0.2 in week 8 of 2025. His production fell hard from 2024, when he averaged 14.41 points a game across two late-season appearances, to 3.44 last year. That brief stretch at the tail of 2024, both games coming when most teams had nothing left to play for, is the only thing in his record that hints at fantasy upside, and two games is a thin thing to lean on. Sean Mannion taking over play calling changes nothing for a third-stringer.
Our number had him at 22 points for the season, most outcomes landing between 7 and 37, and the low tail there is injury-shortened seasons. Even the top of that range needs games nobody is projecting. Hold nothing here. Release him whenever you need the spot, because a quarterback who sits five straight weeks and averaged 3.4 when he did play is dead weight on any roster.
