Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Four quarterbacks sit above him on the KC depth chart, and the one who matters is Patrick Mahomes, who has missed nothing to suggest a change. Oladokun did not play in weeks 1 through 4 of 2026, his bye in week 5 of 2026 is behind him, and there has been no injury designation since before week 1 of 2026. He is healthy. He is just never going on the field.
The track record backs the eye test. In 2025 he appeared 3 times, averaged 3.7 points, never cleared our 7.4 median, and his worst week was -1.68 in week 18 of 2025. His yards per touch dropped from 5 in 2024 to 3.6 in 2025. At 29, in his fifth season, a seventh-round pick from 2022, this is what he is.
And the sitting is a pattern, not a 2026 quirk. He played 1 of 17 games in 2024, first appearing in week 18 of 2024, and 0 of 17 in 2023, and none of those missed weeks were injury weeks. They were healthy weeks the staff simply chose not to use him. Andy Reid is back for 2026 and calls the plays himself, and Reid's 2025 KC offense ran 32.9 seconds a play with 58% of situation-neutral plays going through the air. None of that adds a role for the fourth quarterback on the roster.
Our preseason projection gave him 7 points on 1 expected game, and even that generous sliver hasn't materialized. We rank him QB80 and 535th overall, with one player left in his tier before a 4.6-point gap opens below. A spot spent here is a spot doing nothing while weeks run off the schedule, and week 6 of 2026 is next. Use the slot on someone who can actually help you.
