Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
The Lions are on their bye in week 6 of 2026, so Saylors does not play and gives you zero points this week. He's third among Detroit running backs behind Jahmyr Gibbs and Sione Vaki, and he has 0 PPR points across 5 games with no touchdowns. In our rest-of-season order he sits at RB138 with 1.3 PPR points, so even when week 7 arrives at home against Green Bay there's nothing here to use. Find a fill-in for this week, and if your roster is tight, he's an easy drop.
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Five games, five goose eggs. Saylors has dressed every week of 2026 and come out of it with 0 carries, 0 targets and 0.0 points a game, so there's no injury to blame and no small sample to excuse. It's simply a depth chart behind Jahmyr Gibbs, with Sione Vaki ahead of him too and Isiah Pacheco behind him, and he's buried third on it.
The history makes this even less of a debate. He spent all of 2023 and all of 2024 on a roster without playing a single game, so two full seasons produced nothing at all. He's an undrafted back from the 2023 class now entering his fourth year, and Detroit's coaching situation hasn't changed, with Dan Campbell and John Morton both back, so nobody new is coming in to rethink the pecking order.
The 2025 season already told you what to expect. He played 11 games and finished with 1.1 total points, scoring above the position's weekly median in none of them. His 0.8% snap share ranked RB150 among 158 qualifying running backs, and he finished the year with 0 red-zone touches and 0 touches inside the ten. The one encouraging line from our numbers is that running backs in his spot gained about a point a game the following year on average, but starting from 0.1 points a game, that gets you nowhere near a roster spot.
We put 10 points on him for the season at a 0.8 pace over 13 expected games, and even that modest number needs touches he isn't getting. With his bye landing in week 6 of 2026, there's no reason to keep him while a live backup sits in the pool.
