Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Five missed weeks to open 2026, all of them healthy scratches as far as we can tell, and a depth chart that puts him behind Sam Darnold and Drew Lock. That is the whole picture for a second-year third-rounder who has never been given anything to do. Even the coaching setup does him no favors: Mike Macdonald is back, but Brian Fleury is a new play caller with no reason to design snaps for a third-string quarterback.
The 2025 numbers underneath are worse than the inactive streak. He played 3 of 17 weeks, finished last among 81 qualifying quarterbacks at -1.6 points total, topped the position's weekly median zero times, and his best game, week 3 of 2025, was worth 0.3 points. Seattle ran him on 1.8% of offensive snaps. Zero touches inside the ten, zero red-zone looks. The role was a gadget look that never got gadgeted, and the passing game leaned on Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp for 52% of the targets anyway.
Our preseason projection was 17 points on 4 expected games, 4.3 a game, and that was written before he spent the first five weeks of 2026 in street clothes. He is now carrying an O designation heading into week 6 of 2026, and there is one player left in his tier before a 2.6-point drop behind him, which tells you how thin the group is. We would need two things before caring again: an injury to the quarterbacks ahead of him, and then actual snaps with rushing usage attached. Until one of those shows up, this is a dropped name in every format, and his bye in week 11 of 2026 makes him even easier to forget.
