Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
A rookie who went undrafted out of the 2026 class, Geers carried a preseason number of just 1.0 points for the whole season, and that was before anything went wrong. It went wrong. He sits on IR as of before week 3 of 2026, and the list is a season-long one: no game gets played while he is on it, and our board slots him below every tight end you can actually start.
The five weeks tell the whole story without any help. Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026 all went by with zero games from him, and his bye does not even land until week 14 of 2026, so there is no soft landing coming from the calendar. Before all this, the depth chart had him fifth at his own position, behind Trey McBride, Elijah Higgins, Hunter Long and Tip Reiman, in a passing game where McBride alone pulled 27% of Arizona's targets back in 2025. Even healthy, the path here was nothing.
He went into the season with an expectation of one game played, so nothing about the start is a surprise, only a confirmation. Mike LaFleur and Nathaniel Hackett are both new to this staff this year, which matters for everyone in Arizona except the fifth tight end on a team with one established target earner. If he is somehow holding a spot on your roster, clear it. Pick up any tight end with a pulse and a uniform.
