Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Three games missed in five weeks, 7 carries, 12 yards, zero targets. That is the whole season so far for a rookie third on the depth chart behind Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. There is nothing here to hold onto, and the Tennessee backfield gives him no route to touches while Pollard is upright.
The case for him was always thin. We had him at 74 points for 2026, only about 10 games because the injury risk on rookie backs drafted where he went is real, and drafters took him at 156.4 all the same. We ranked him RB54 ourselves, 195th overall, which tells you how modest the hope was. He is already tracking under that pace, at 0.6 points a game across the two weeks he has played against our preseason pace of 7.4. Robert Saleh and Brian Daboll are both new to Tennessee, which you could have argued opened a clean slate. It has not opened one for him, and the backdrop did him no favors either: TEN won 3 games in 2025 and passed on 54% of situation-neutral plays, so the environment he was stepping into was already grim.
We would spend the roster spot elsewhere. He has shown nothing through week 5 of 2026 and sits behind two established backs, with his bye still coming in week 9 of 2026. There are only 2 players left in his tier before an 8.5-point cliff, so what you would find to replace him is not much better, and the only thing that changes this is an injury to Pollard or Spears. You cannot run a bench slot waiting on that. Cut him and check back if the depth chart moves.
