Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The IR placement that arrived before week 6 of 2026 is what decides him. He plays no game while he sits on that list, and the board ranks him below every available running back at the position, so for as long as it lasts he is dead weight on a roster that needs live bodies.
Before the designation, the case was a small one but a real one. Through week 5 of 2026 he handled 23% of his team's red-zone carries and targets in his games, 9 of 39, and 19% of the carries and targets inside the ten. On a team that leans on Saquon Barkley everywhere, those shares are third-string scraps, but they got him 8.3 points in week 5 of 2026, more than triple any other week this season. The rest reads how you would expect for a third back: 20 carries and 5 catches in five games, 4.0 points a game, one touchdown.
The history keeps the bar low. Last season he played 14 games and cleared the position's weekly median once, and our preseason number for 2026 was 33 points, about 2.5 a game over the 13 games we expected. Barkley and Tank Bigsby sit ahead of him, and Nick Sirianni kept his staff intact on the offensive side. That is a role, not a path to weekly relevance.
We would cut him and spend the roster spot on a running back who can actually play while this IR stretch lasts. If Philadelphia activates him and Barkley misses time, revisit then.
