Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Bengals are on bye in week 6 of 2026, so Higgins doesn't play this week and scores nothing. No designation on Sunday's report and he's still second among Cincinnati receivers behind Ja'Marr Chase, so nothing here but the calendar. His next game is week 7 away at Baltimore, kicking off Sunday 12:00 pm Central. Keep him on your roster, leave him out of the lineup this week, and have a fill-in cover the spot until then.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The 4.2 in week 5 of 2026 stings, but zoom out and he is doing exactly what we asked: 15.1 a game against the 15.3 pace we set before the season, on 43 targets in five weeks. Only week 1 came in under the median, and the deep profile is live, 42% of the team's air yards through week 5 of 2026, ninth among 64 receivers. That is a downfield WR1 share, not a bit player's.
The case we made before the season still holds. He stayed on the field for 80.8% of snaps last year, and receivers in that spot gained 8 points a game on average the following year. The 18.6% target share carried a +5.9 gain in the same comparison, and the 28.8% air-yards share another 2.7. Our 229-point projection sits 27.1 above what receivers drafted around 36.6 have historically returned.
Two things shave him. The touchdown weight, a 31.5% share of his scoring, has come down for players in his spot, and the crowded room behind Chase has cost comparable receivers 0.9 a game. The red-zone number this year is ugly, 2 of 47 team red-zone touches, 55th of 64. Still, the week 9 of 2025 spike of 31.1 shows the ceiling when the scores land. He has played every game so far in 2026, and no injury designation has shown up since before the most recent one. Sit him for his 2026 bye, then start him every week of 2026 after it. He is giving you more than where he went.
