Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Ten carries and two catches through five weeks of 2026. That is the whole usage story, and it is nothing. He sits fourth on the JAX depth chart behind Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez Jr. and LeQuint Allen Jr., and week 4 and week 5 of 2026 both came back at 0.0 points. Zero touchdowns, 45 rush yards, 2 receiving yards, all season.
The fall itself is the caution here. His points a game went from 8.35 in 2024 to 2.92 in 2025, and his target share dropped from 8.4% to 4.1% over the same stretch. That drop has cost players in his spot badly, and at 33.2 years old entering season number 12, the receiving role that once propped him up is gone. Two seasons back he put up 125.2 points, RB38 among 129 qualifying running backs, which tells you how far this has slid. He cleared 15 points in zero of his 13 played weeks in 2025, so this decline is a season old, not a two-week mirage.
Even the hopeful framing does not save him. Points a game among players in his spot have risen about 3 on average from one season to the next, net of two factors, and none of that path is open to a man without a role. Inside the ten in 2025 he got 2 touches, RB80 among 148 qualifying running backs, and 4 red-zone touches in total. Our preseason number was 29 points, and the bye in week 7 of 2026 is next. Drop him wherever you hold him and move on.
