Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Five missed weeks to open 2026, weeks 1 through 5, and no injury designation the whole time tells you this is a coach's decision, not a medical one. Tanner Engstrand and Aaron Glenn kept the offense they ran a year ago, and that offense gave its targets to Garrett Wilson and Mason Taylor, 52% between them, with nothing left over for a sixth running back. We had him for 1 expected game all season, 3.0 points a game on our preseason pace, and he has already burned through five of the weeks we barely gave him. He sits listed sixth among the NYJ running backs, behind Breece Hall, Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis and Andrew Beck, and a 25.4-year-old undrafted rookie does not leapfrog that group on talent alone in one season. The team around him went 3 wins in 2025 and ran the ball in a 33.6-second-a-play offense that passed on 44% of situation-neutral plays, so there was never much usage to go around even before the depth settled. There is no ADP for him on our records, which fits a rookie nobody saw coming. There is a real path to nothing here: our range bottoms out at 0 points, and with zero games played he is on that pace. The schedule does not help either, with two of the final three weeks at home against NE in week 16 of 2026 and MIN in week 17 of 2026, matchups he would need a real role first to matter in. Hold out for an appearance between week 6 of 2026 and week 12 of 2026 or a special-teams job before spending another week of roster space on him. Otherwise cut him and move on.
