Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
The Vikings sit on bye in week 6 of 2026, so Jefferson scores nothing and cannot help you this week. He's healthy, no designation on Sunday's report, but he's fourth among Minnesota backs behind Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason and Demond Claiborne, and he hasn't logged a snap all season. In our rest-of-season order he sits at RB125, 10.4 PPR points a week. Keep him stashed if you have the room, sit him for week 6, and circle his week 7 home date with the Colts as the first chance he plays.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Five weeks of 2026 are gone and Jermar Jefferson has not appeared in any of them, and the weeks speak plainly: he did not play in weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, with no injury designation at all since before week 1. His bye in week 6 of 2026 is still ahead, so even the excuse of a missed week is not available. We expected about two games from him all season, and he has played none of them.
This has never been an injury problem. He played zero of 17 games in 2025 and two of 17 in 2024, and the weeks he missed were healthy weeks he did not dress. His first appearance in 2024 did not come until week 16 of 2024. He turned 26 this offseason and is entering his sixth year, yet the most recent line on the record is 4.2 points across two games in 2024, RB108 among 129 backs that year.
The depth chart closes whatever door was left. He is listed fourth among MIN backs, behind Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason and Demond Claiborne, on a team where Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison took half the targets in 2025. Kevin O'Connell is back for another season and calls the plays himself, so there is no new voice to change the pecking order. The offense ran slow anyway, 33.4 seconds a play in 2025. Our projection gave him 4.3 points for the full season, which works out to 2.0 a game over the two games we expected him to play, and our board has him RB110.
The spot is worth more than the hope. Cut him and pick up a back who can actually take a carry.
