Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
Etienne has not appeared in a single game through week 5 of 2026, missing weeks 1 through 4 before the bye, so there is nothing new to weigh. What we do have is a rookie year that never took off: all 17 games played, zero weeks above the position's weekly median, and 0.8 points a game behind a 5.9% snap share. That small role fits the shape of his season, and among players in his spot, a snap share that thin has actually come with a modest gain of a point a game the next season.
The bigger worry is the inside-ten work. A 13.0% inside-ten touch share looks like goal-line runway, but that profile has cost players in his spot 1.4 points a game on average from one season to the next, and Carolina still lists him fourth among its running backs behind Chuba Hubbard and AJ Dillon. The runway itself was nearly empty: 3 touches inside the ten and 4 in the red zone all season, and 23 touches in total, RB95 among 159 qualifying backs. Even his receiving work went nowhere, 13 yards on a 0.6% target share while Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette pulled in 41% of the targets between them. He never cleared 15 points in any of his 17 weeks, and the worst was a zero in week 3 of 2025.
Our preseason number was 4.0 points across 3 expected games, an RB112 on our board, and we held no ADP on him going into the year.
We would let him go rather than hold a roster spot. The only path back is injuries ahead of him and weeks where he finally clears the median, which he never managed as a rookie.
