Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
He has not played a single week of 2026, and there is no injury designation to explain it. He did not play in weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, five healthy scratches in a row, which is a much worse signal than a hamstring would be. When a seventh receiver keeps getting ruled active in name only, the coaching staff is telling you where he stands.
The standing is nowhere. Indianapolis kept Shane Steichen and Jim Bob Cooter in place, so nothing changed on the sideline to open a door, and the target room in front of him is crowded and established: Alec Pierce first, Josh Downs second, Keenan Allen third, and he is listed seventh. Tyler Warren and Michael Pittman took 21% of the targets apiece in 2025, 42% between them, and none of that is walking out the door. In 2025 he was active for 2 of 17 games, first showing up in week 15 of 2025, and scored 0 points across them. A 0.8% snap share and a 2.0-yard average depth of target tell you exactly how he was used, which is barely.
We set him at 6.3 points for the season on 2 expected games, 3.0 a game, and he has banked none of it. Players in a target room this crowded have lost 0.9 points a game from one season to the next on average, and he is starting from zero anyway. With his bye still ahead in week 13 of 2026 and no headlines coming, there is no week on the schedule where this turns. Drop him and use the spot on someone who can actually get on the field.
