Our read

Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6

Colson Yankoff is fourth among Washington's tight ends, behind Chig Okonkwo, John Bates and Ben Sinnott, with the published projection at 0.4 points in PPR scoring for week 6 of 2026. He's managed 0.7 PPR points a game across the season's first five weeks with zero touchdowns, blanked the last two games. Monday night in San Francisco doesn't help: the 49ers sit 4th of 32 against tight ends at 8 PPR points a game through week 5. No designation on Sunday's report, but he has no path to your lineup. Sit him.

Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season

Fourth on the depth chart at tight end in Washington, behind Chig Okonkwo, John Bates and Ben Sinnott, and it shows. Four targets and two catches in five weeks of 2026, 0.7 points a game, two zero-point weeks in the last two, and no touchdowns all season. Our preseason number was 19 points for the full season, built on 1.5 points a game over 13 expected games, and he is running half of even that modest pace.

Preseason projection19projected PPR points

Last season tells you this is who he is, not a slow start. Ten games, 4 total points, 12.2% of Washington's snaps, 0.8% of the targets, zero red-zone touches. He finished TE103 among 137 qualifying tight ends. His best week was 2.4 points back in week 13 of 2025, he never scored above the position's weekly median once in those ten games, and he cleared 15 points in none of them. When he did get on the field early that year, weeks 1 to 4 of 2025, he sat at 15% to 16% of the snaps with a target share between 0% and 1%. A new play caller in David Blough changes nothing for a fourth-string tight end with Deebo Samuel Sr. and Terry McLaurin absorbing nearly half the targets on this roster.

He is healthy, no designation since before week 1 of 2026, and that is the only good news here. The availability record is shaky too: 10 of 17 games played in 2025, with the ankle issue keeping him Out from the final stretch of that season on, and just 4 of 17 in 2024. His bye in week 7 of 2026 is next. With a 2.0-point cliff three players behind him in his tier, this is the easiest roster cut of your week.
