Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Five games into 2026 and Bauer Sharp has zero targets. Not low targets, zero, across every week from week 1 of 2026 through week 5 of 2026, and that turns his whole case into a one-sentence read: he is a fourth tight end on a roster behind Cade Otton, Payne Durham and Ko Kieft, and nothing has happened yet to move him up it. The 0.0 points a game is not a slump, it is the absence of opportunity, and opportunity is the only thing that could make him matter.
We saw this before the season too. Our preseason number was 23 points for the full year, which came out to 2.6 a game over the 9 games we expected him to play, and our board had him at TE102 and overall rank 329. Even that looked optimistic by week 3 of 2026. He has not missed a game and carries no injury designation, so availability is not the issue. The issue is that Zac Robinson's new offense has gone through Emeka Egbuka and Mike Evans, who took 47% of Tampa's targets between them last season, and the pecking order at tight end has Otton well ahead of the rest.
So what do you do with him now, in week 6 of 2026? Nothing, because there is nothing to do. He is not worth a roster spot in any format, and the only scenario that changes that is injuries ahead of him, which is not a plan. Drop him whenever you need the spot, use it on a tight end who is actually seeing targets, and check back on Sharp only if Otton goes down. Until then he is a name, not a player.
