Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Quentin Moore carries no designation on Sunday's report for the Monday night trip to San Francisco, but he has yet to play a snap in 2026 after sitting out weeks 1 through 5. Even with a clean bill, he's fifth among Washington tight ends behind Chig Okonkwo, John Bates, Ben Sinnott and Colson Yankoff, so snaps look scarce. The 49ers rank 4th of 32 against tight ends, giving up 8 PPR points a game, and in our rest-of-season order he sits at 4.6 PPR points, TE138 overall. A roster holding Moore needs a live fill-in for week 6 and leaves him out of the lineup.
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
No injury listing since before week 1 of 2026 and still five straight weeks, weeks 1 through 5, with Moore not playing. That is the case in front of you: an undrafted rookie the staff has not seen fit to dress, while our own number for him before the season was 1 point for the whole year, with most outcomes between -1 and 3. Our preseason pace was 1.0 points a game over the 1 games we expected, and he has missed every one so far, so the season is tracking the low end of what we thought rather than the middle.
The depth chart tells you why nothing is coming. He is listed fifth among Washington's tight ends, behind Chig Okonkwo, John Bates, Ben Sinnott and Colson Yankoff. David Blough is calling plays for the first time this year under Dan Quinn, and a new play caller with four tight ends ahead of a 26-year-old rookie from the 2026 class is not a recipe for snaps appearing late. Even if he dressed tomorrow, the catches would be scarce: Deebo Samuel Sr. took 25% of Washington's targets in 2025 and Terry McLaurin took 23%, 48% between them. And there are no recent headlines, so nothing points to that changing soon.
The bye lands in week 7 of 2026, so even the next two weeks offer no game to watch him in. There is no prior season to lean on and no usage history at all, which is usually the tell that a player is a name only. For a manager holding him, the spot is better spent on a tight end who is dressing on Sundays, so release him.
