Our read
Written Oct 18, from his facts through last season
Seattle has dressed him three times in 2026 and handed him the ball zero times, and the weeks he sat, weeks 1, 4 and 5 of 2026, were coach's decisions, not injury weeks. There is no injury designation now either, so this is simply where the staff wants him. Fourth on the depth chart behind AJ Barner, Eric Saubert and Elijah Arroyo, with a new play caller in Brian Fleury who has shown no reason to change that.
The 2025 numbers explain why. Four games, 0.4% of Seattle's targets, one red-zone touch all year. The one eye-catching line from that season, a red-zone share of his own touches that led the position, is one touch out of one touch, so read it as a curiosity, not a role. With Jaxon Smith-Njigba at 36% and Cooper Kupp at 16% of the 2025 targets, the leftover scraps for the fourth tight end are close to nothing.
We set his season at 28 points before the year, at a pace of 2.3 a game over the 12 games we expected, and he is running under that by every point available. The middle of the range, 15 to 41, needs targets that never arrive. His bye comes in week 11 of 2026 and there is nothing before or after it to wait on. Every week you carry him is a week you cannot carry a tight end with a real path to snaps. Clear the spot and add anyone with a live role, even a streaming option off the wire.
