Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Ko Kieft has caught nothing through week 5 of 2026. Three games played, zero targets, zero catches, 0.0 points a game. That is not a slow start so much as a continuation of 2025, when his season ended after week 3 of 2025 with the same 0.0 points a game over his two appearances. We had him at 27 points for the full 2026 season, and even that modest projection assumed a role he has never held.
The role explains the zeros. He is listed third among TB tight ends behind Cade Otton and Payne Durham, and last season he played on 13.8% of snaps with a 0.0% target share among 137 qualifying tight ends. Zac Robinson is new as play caller this year, but nothing in three weeks suggests the pecking order moved. Even if it did, Emeka Egbuka and Mike Evans took 47% of TB's 2025 targets between them, and the scraps behind them do not reach the third tight end.
Availability is the deeper worry. He has already missed weeks 2 and 4 of 2026, played 2 of 17 games in 2025 with 14 missed to injury or a reserve list, and played 3 of 17 in 2024. He is 28.6 and entering his fifth season, so this is the player he is. There is no scenario where he helps a roster this year. Release him and carry a tight end with a live target path instead.
