Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
One catch, 4 receiving yards, and a 0.3-point average through week 5 of 2026. Four of his five weeks are goose eggs. There is no version of this where Ogletree helps you, and we should have said so louder before the season when our number for him was 31 points, about 2.2 a game over the 14 games we expected.
The problem is the seat he holds. He is listed third among Colts tight ends behind Tyler Warren, and Warren is not a passing afterthought, he took 21% of Indianapolis' targets last season. Mo Alie-Cox is ahead of him too. Ogletree's own 2025 usage tells the same story: a 23.8% snap share and a 1.3% target share, both deep in the position ranks, with just 2 red-zone touches all year. The one encouraging number, a top-ten red-zone share of his own touches, is 33.3% of almost nothing.
There is a real cost to his profile on top of all that. Among players in his spot, carrying a 1.5x touchdown share, points a game fell 0.7 on average from one season to the next, and he has already turned that decline into one catch in five weeks. His yards per target fell from 7.8 in 2024 to 4.5 in 2025, so the efficiency went with it. He has avoided the injury report since before week 1 of 2026, but availability was never the issue. The role is. Let him go and use the roster spot on someone who can catch a spike in targets.
