Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
He is beating the number we gave him before the season. We projected 174 points across 14 expected games, a 12.4 points-a-game pace, and through week 5 of 2026 he is at 16.2 a game with all five starts played. Ten touchdowns and 1,234 pass yards already. The stretch that matters is recent: 22.68 in week 3 of 2026, 19.96 in week 4 of 2026, 22 in week 5 of 2026. That is starter production from a guy our board slotted QB27.
The wobble you cannot ignore is week 2 of 2026, 3.98 points, the kind of dud that shows up more often at 43 than it did at 35. This is season number 22, and his last injury-shortened year, 2023, ended at one game played. He has not missed a week this season and carries no designation, but the range we set bottoms out at 102 points for exactly that reason. He has also never run this offense before, with Mike McCarthy new as head coach and Brian Angelichio new as play caller, so far without a visible cost. The pass rush is finding him, 22% of his dropbacks pressured through week 5 of 2026, and his completion rate sits 2 percentage points below expectation, QB28 among 35 quarterbacks. The arm talent held up a year ago, when he finished QB17 among 81 qualifying quarterbacks at 14.1 points a game.
There is no rushing help here, just 8 carries and 18 yards, and no red-zone touches last season. He wins purely through the air. For now the good weeks are outweighing the dud, so hold him as your QB2 and keep starting him until a week like week 2 of 2026 shows up twice.
