Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Bryce Young has beaten what we thought of him before the season, and that is the place to start. We set him at QB29 overall rank 227, 168 points for 2026, and he comes off his bye in week 5 of 2026 averaging 22.7 points a game with 10 touchdowns and 1,268 pass yards in four weeks. That is not a small hot stretch against soft coverage either. He is pressured on 34% of his dropbacks and blitzed on 24% of his 175 charted dropbacks, and he is still completing 5.1 percentage points over expectation, QB7 among 35 quarterbacks with 50 or more tracked attempts. The protection is bad and he is playing through it.
The worry is that last season looked like this one and ended at QB19. He averaged 13.5 points a game in 2025, cleared 15 points in 7 of 16 weeks, and his yards per touch fell from 5.8 in 2024 to 4 in 2025. Our number sits 12.9 points under the average for quarterbacks drafted where he went, about 181, so the season-long case still says modest, and four players in his tier sit ahead of a 15.9-point drop. The run game gives him almost nothing, 6 carries through four weeks, so this rests on volume passing with Brad Idzik still calling it.
Availability is not the question. He has played 16, 14 and 16 games the last three years and has not missed one in 2026. We would start him and watch whether weeks 6 through 10 of 2026 look like weeks 1 and 2 or like week 3 of 2026.
