Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Six games into 2026 and Bo Nix is at 10.9 points a game against the 18.2 pace we set for him before the season, and the accuracy is the part that should worry you most. He is 4.1 percentage points below expectation on 162 tracked attempts across weeks 1 to 5 of 2026, QB34 among the 35 quarterbacks with enough attempts to count. That is not a bad-luck split, that is a guy throwing off schedule. Opponents have blitzed him on 34% of his 172 charted dropbacks in weeks 1 to 5 of 2026, and they have pressured him on 21% of the same 172 dropbacks, and he has not handled either.
The other half of last year's case has vanished. In 2025 he was QB9 on 17.5 points a game, and a chunk of that came from legs and screens: 83 touches, top five among qualifying quarterbacks. This season he has 22 carries for 37 rushing yards and zero targets through week 6 of 2026. When the run game pays nothing and the completions run worse than expected, 7 touchdowns on 1049 pass yards is what is left, and it is not enough.
Here is why we are not cutting him yet. Our preseason number still had him at 236 for the full season, QB14 on our board, and QBs drafted near his 111.4 ADP have historically landed around 246 even with the bad seasons pooled in. The wheels have come off for five straight weeks, but Sean Payton calls his own plays, and the bye in week 10 of 2026 gives him room to settle. We would hold one more stretch. If the accuracy is still near the bottom of the position through week 8 of 2026, move on.
