Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The knee is the whole question. He missed weeks 3 and 4 of 2026, and the report had carried him as Out with the knee from week 18 of 2025 all the way until he was finally cleared to play again in Philadelphia's most recent game. So the clean designation now is good news, not proof. He has played 3 games this season and scored 11.6 a game, with a 23.7-point week 1 of 2026 propping up a 1.4 in week 2 and a 9.8 in week 5. That is a player you start and cross your fingers about, not one you trust yet.
The production case is still real. Last season he put up 185 points, TE7 among 137 qualifying tight ends, and cleared the position's weekly median in all 15 games he played. The volume held up too, an 84.6% snap share and a 20.0% target share, both TE8. What you should not bank on is a repeat of the scoring: his 1.2x touchdown share profile has cost TEs in his spot 0.7 points a game the next season on average, and his yards per catch already slid from 9.5 in 2024 to 7.2 in 2025. This year his targets sit at just 5.8 yards downfield on average, TE23 among 33 tight ends, so he is living short of the chains.
We had him at TE14 and 137 points before the season, taken around pick 120.5, and the first five weeks have not moved that read. He is giving you more than where he went if healthy, less if the knee flares again. Hold him and keep the handcuff tight end rostered, because 2024, when he played only 10 games, is what the low end of his range looks like.
