Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Five games, five lineups, zero missed weeks and no injury designation since before week 1 of 2026. For a tight end turning 32 this season, that reliability is the whole reason to keep him around, and it is why our number of 98 points sits above the 85 or so that TEs drafted near pick 156.8 have produced in the past.
But look at how the points arrive. One touchdown on 19 targets through week 5 of 2026, a week 3 of 2026 that went for 1.5, and a season best of 13.4. Last year he beat the position's weekly median in 14 of 17 games, which is genuinely good, yet he cleared 15 points just three times all season. That is a steady-diet profile with almost no spike weeks, and it costs you when you need a big game from the position. His yards per target did jump from 6.9 in 2024 to 8.8 in 2025, and the zero drops so far back up the clean hands.
The role is real: he was first among NE tight ends, took 18% of the targets while Stefon Diggs took 21% in 2025, and finished TE4 among qualifying tight ends with 22 red-zone touches. If those inside-the-ten looks start turning into scores, the weekly numbers climb fast. Right now they have not. We would hold him as a TE2 and start him only when the matchup is soft, and the stretch at KC and the Jets in weeks 15 and 16 of 2026 will tell you whether he is worth keeping for the fantasy playoffs.
