Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The IR designation is the whole problem right now. He has been listed there since before week 3 of 2026, meaning weeks 2 through 5 of 2026 are already gone and the board ranks him below every available running back while he sits on it. His one game this season, week 1 of 2026, produced 0 points. Nothing in the recent news gives a return date.
Even healthy, the role is thin. He is listed second among Cleveland backs behind Quinshon Judkins, with Raheim Sanders third, and last season the usage backed that up: a 25.9% snap share, RB72 among 158 qualifying backs, and just 13 red-zone touches. His value in 2025 came through the air, 271 receiving yards at RB23, but a -1.5 average depth of target shows those were dump-offs, not routes down the field. The 2025 production was streaky too. He cleared 15 points in only 2 of his 15 played weeks, and his worst was -0.2 in week 4 of 2025.
Our preseason number was 88 points over the 13 games we expected, 6.8 a game, and that already assumed availability he has not delivered. Miss four weeks and the ceiling of that range is out of reach even if he comes back and plays well behind Judkins. The case for holding him rests on his age and a fourth-round draft slot in 2025, not anything we have seen this year. If your league's IR slot is free, park him there and wait. If you need an active running back, cut him and pick up someone who can actually take a snap for you in week 6 of 2026.
