Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Goff does not play in week 6 of 2026 because Detroit is on bye, so he scores you nothing this week. Keep him on the roster and plan for week 7, when the Lions host Green Bay on Sunday at 3:25 pm Central. He comes in playing well, with 23 PPR points a game and 13 touchdowns over 5 games, capped by 28.9 PPR points at Arizona in week 5. In our rest-of-season order he's QB2 at 189.9 PPR points, so he stays your starter once the bye clears.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Jared Goff is beating our number. We set him at 257 points for 2026 and had him going around 17 a week, and through five games he is at 23 points a game with 13 touchdowns already banked. Week 1 of 2026 was the only soft one at 16.44, and even that clears most weeks. The offense has not changed under Dan Campbell and John Morton, the line is keeping him clean on 19% of his dropbacks, and he is completing the ball 0.9 percentage points over expectation when teams do get to him.
What he is not doing matters too. Sixteen rush yards on 10 carries, zero targets, and last year he had a single red-zone touch among 64 qualifying quarterbacks. Everything runs through his arm, which is why a week like the 2.08 he put up in week 17 of 2025 can happen when the passing game stalls. He does not scramble his way out of a bad afternoon. Blitzes are coming on 33% of his charted dropbacks, and so far he has handled them.
The durability side is as clean as it gets, 17 of 17 games played in each of 2023, 2024 and 2025 with none missed to injury or a reserve list, and no designation this year. That was the base of our number and it is holding. The production base holds too, QB7 among 59 qualifying quarterbacks in 2023, QB6 among 69 in 2024 and QB8 among 81 in 2025, plus 11 of 17 weeks over 15 points last season. Keep him in your lineup every week the Lions play, starting with week 7 after the bye in week 6 of 2026.
