Our read
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Week 5 of 2026 is the first thing worth talking about: 9 points, 6 catches, 41 receiving yards. After three weeks where he scored nothing or sat, that is the whole spike in his file. Before you chase it, remember what week 4 looked like, 3.3 points, and weeks 1 and 2 of 2026, both zeros.
The depth chart tells you why the ceiling is low. He is listed third among CHI backs, behind D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, with Brittain Brown fourth. Nine carries in five weeks is not a role, and zero touchdowns so far. Last season he had a 0.8% snap share, RB149 among 158 qualifying running backs, and no targets to speak of. The one hopeful number: among backs in that spot, points a game rose 2.7 on average the following season, net of 2 factors. So a jump is normal, and a jump from 0.3 is still a small number.
The real downside is availability. He played 6 games in 2025, missing weeks 8 to 9 and 12 to 18 with a thumb injury, and his season ended after week 11 of 2025. We expected 12 games before the season, and week 3 of 2026 already went missing. He has no injury designation now, which helps. Our preseason number was 16 points, with most outcomes landing between 5 and 27, and he only climbs near the top of that band if the catching work from that last game keeps coming. He is worth keeping on a deep bench, or grabbing in a deep league, and what settles it is whether the passing-down role shows up again in the next Chicago game.
