Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Brady Cook does not play this week, as Miami is off on its bye in week 6 of 2026 and he scores zero points. He has yet to appear in a game all season, sitting weeks 1 through 5 behind Malik Willis at third among Dolphins quarterbacks, though Sunday's report carries no injury designation for him. When the Dolphins return in week 7, it's a road visit to the Jets at 12:00 pm Central. Keep him benched this week and cover the roster spot with a quarterback who's actually playing.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Cook has missed weeks 1 through 5 of 2026, and the bye in week 6 of 2026 comes before he has any chance to play, so nothing has changed since summer for a manager holding him. Here is the part that should decide it for you even if he does get on the field: in 2025 he was active five times and sat out twelve healthy weeks, meaning his own team chose not to dress him when he had no injury. That is not a depth chart accident, it is a verdict from the people watching him practice every day.
The five weeks he did play last season went 5.3 points a game, with a single high of 8.94 in week 15 of 2025 and zero weeks above the position's weekly median. He never cleared 15 points in any of those five starts. Our preseason projection was 121 points with 11 expected games, but that number assumed he would have a role. Instead he is listed third among Miami's quarterbacks behind Malik Willis, with Jeff Hafley and Bobby Slowik both new to the building and no reason to lean on an undrafted second-year arm.
If your league is so deep that you must carry three quarterbacks, he is the wrong one of the three. For everyone else the 17.0-point drop after his tier has one player left in it, and none of that matters while he is inactive. Cut him and use the spot on a player who can actually take a week of snaps for you.
