Our read
Written Sun 12:01 am Central, for week 6
Athan Kaliakmanis sits third on Washington's depth chart behind Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota going into week 6 of 2026, and no injury designation on Sunday's report changes that before Monday night at San Francisco. His only action came in week 4, 11 PPR points against the Colts, with weeks 1, 2, 3 and 5 all off. The 49ers allow the 6th fewest PPR points to QBs at 13.1 a game, and in our rest-of-season order he's QB34 at 57.5 points. He won't see the field Monday, so keep him benched and find a fill-in for the week.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
The week 4 of 2026 start against nobody's plan is the only line that matters: 11.04 points, 186 pass yards, a touchdown, three carries for 16 yards. It happened because the depth chart in front of him held a spot open that week, not because anything changed. Jayden Daniels is first, Marcus Mariota second, and Kaliakmanis is third among WSH QBs. He missed weeks 1, 2, 3 and 5 of 2026, four weeks in all, and there's no injury designation since before week 3, so most of those are healthy scratches.
We set our number at 14 points for the full season before it began, built on an expectation of just 2 games, and that pace was 7.0 a game. One start at 11 doesn't move the case. He's a 23-year-old rookie who came over in the 2026 draft, and no ADP for him on our page tells you how little of a factor he was meant to be. He's on a Washington team running a new play caller in David Blough under Dan Quinn, and the 2025 version of this team won 5 games while throwing on 50% of situation-neutral plays at a 33.6-second pace, a profile that gives a third QB nothing. The five players left in his tier sit just ahead of a 1.4-point cliff, and our board still has him at QB72, so the stash case was thin before a single snap.
The bye lands in week 7 of 2026, right after the next game, so there's nothing to stream into anyway. Hold him only in leagues deep enough to stash a third QB, and only for the day Daniels misses time. If that day comes, the hand likely goes to Mariota first. In one-QB formats this is an easy drop for a live body.
