Our read
Written Oct 19, from his facts through last season
The weeks are the story: weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of 2026, all missed, and an O designation that has been on him since before week 3 of 2026. Our projection of 111 points was built on 13 games at 8.5 a game, and five of those games are already gone. Even when he returns, the weeks he cannot get back cap everything, and the low end of the range on him was always injury-shortened seasons like this one could become.
The profile was shaky before any of this happened. Last season 35.4% of his points came from touchdowns, and running backs in that spot fell 9.6 points a game the next season on average. His 20.9% red-zone touch share carried a 6.4-point fall among comparable backs. The touchdowns were propping up a usage profile that had already slipped: 59.3% of snaps and a 10.3% target share in 2025, with his snap share inside the season falling from 74% in weeks 1 to 4 of 2025 to 48% in weeks 14 to 17. That slide, plus him listed fourth among GB running backs behind Chris Brooks and Kaleb Johnson, is why our number sat at RB38, 11.8 points under the 122.5 that backs drafted around 92.6 have produced.
What he has done when healthy is real: 15.8 points a game in 2025, above the position median in 13 of 15 games. But you cannot use a player who does not play, and there is no recent news saying a return is near. Living on that many touchdowns has cost backs in his spot 9.6 points a game the next season on average. We would hold him on a deep bench in case the GB job is still there when he is back, but he cannot start for anyone until he clears the designation and plays.
