The Bengals are on bye in week 6 of 2026, so Perine takes no lineup spot and scores you nothing this week. Cover his vacancy with someone from your bench or the wire. When Cincinnati gets back in week 7, it's a road trip to Baltimore. He's off Sunday's report and just posted 15.8 PPR points at Miami, but 6 PPR points a game over 5 games and a seat behind Chase Brown cap the upside. In our rest-of-season order he sits at RB43, so he stays on your roster as depth.
Written Oct 17, from his facts through last season
Week 5 of 2026 gave him 15.8 points, his best game in a year, and if that is what made you look twice, look at the four weeks underneath it first. 8, then 3.2, then 2.4, then 0.7. He is at 6.0 a game through five weeks, a shade under the 6.9 pace our 103-point preseason number set over 15 expected games, so the spike got managers to trade for him or pick him up more than it changed his case.
The role is the same one he had in 2025, and it is a narrow one. He takes 17% of CIN's red-zone carries and targets in his games, RB42 among backs with 20 or more, and only 3 of the 22 carries and targets inside the ten. Chase Brown is listed ahead of him and Tahj Brooks behind, so the path to more work runs through nobody's injury being announced. When he does get the ball, 1.5 yards after contact a carry ranks RB40 among 53 backs with 25 or more carries, and the fall from 8.6 yards per touch in 2024 to 4.6 in 2025 has cost him exactly the chunk plays a backup lives on.
In 2025 he cleared 15 points in one week out of 15 played and finished RB57, and he is 31 now, in his tenth season. Our board puts him at RB43, overall 139, ahead of his 165.6 preseason ADP, but that is a ranking for a deep league's last spot, not a lineup decision. He is on bye in week 6 of 2026 anyway. Hold him on deep rosters and wait to see whether the last week of 2026 repeats or was the one good week again.
